RTE announces change to Late Late Show in light of Queen's death

President Michael D Higgins will appear on the Late Late Show tonight in light of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing - in a last minute change to the RTE show.

The change will see other elements of the show cut this week to make time for the president to remember the late monarch’s legacy and relationship with Ireland following her death on Thursday, aged 96.

An RTE spokesperson said: “In light of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, President of Ireland Michael D Higgins will speak about the Queen’s relationship with Ireland, the importance of her state visit here, her legacy and his return visit to the UK.
