New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Thursday issued notice to Delhi Police on the plea of Pradeep Ramdanee, co-accused of alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, seeking interim bail in the case related to Rs 200 crore extortion and cheating.

This case was lodged by the Economic Offences Wing in 2021.

Justice Jyoti Singh issued notice to Delhi police and sought a response.

The matter has been listed on May 30 for further hearing.

He has sought interim bail for 90 days. Ramdanee moved to High Court through advocate Anant Malik.

Ramdanee has been in judicial custody for a period of approximately 2 years and 8 months.

The order on his regular bail application has been reserved since April 10 by the trial court.

While filing this application, the said order has still not been pronounced and keeping in view the ill health of the applicant, the present application has been filed.

It is submitted that the Ramdanee is suffering from various medical issues such as diabetes, enlarged prostate, cataracts, heart problems and other age-related problems and the present bail application is being filed as the applicant has been diagnosed with tuberculosis recently. He has lost weight drastically, from around 90 kg to as low as 62 kg.

It is contended that the accused has been in custody for approximately 2 years and 8 months and having been diagnosed with TB, his physical and mental conditions are becoming worse day by day.

More so as he is diabetic and needs proper diet and care, which is completely absent within the jail premises.

It is also said that his earlier interim bail plea for 90 days was dismissed by the trial court on April 12.
