JAIPUR: After the budget announcement, the civic bodies in the state capital will finally take up construction and renovation work of long-pending drainage project.

Allocation of Rs 142 crore was made to renovate Goner Road Nullah and Jai Singh Pura Bhankrota nullah. Similarly, drains will be constructed s at Vande Mantram Road and Benad Road.

“Due to the lack of an integrated plan for development of roads, the widening work, done in phases, disturbed the drainage system. Without an adequate system, the standing water on these points at various major roads is not able to reach the bigger. Once these drains are constructed, major problem will be solved in Jaipur.”
