Roz Purcell says lockdowns brought her and her boyfriend Zach Desmond closer together

Model Roz Purcell has said lockdowns brought her and long-term boyfriend Zach Desmond closer together.

And the author and fitness influencer said she was “grateful” the pair get on so well together when they moved in with each other when the country was placed in lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The former Miss World has been dating music promoter Zach since 2016 after splitting up with The Blizzards frontman Bressie.

She said: “It’s funny how quick you adapt to scenarios you’re put into. I adapted to the five kilometre radius and wore a mask in lockdowns. It’s amazing now how you forget so soon what once was.

“The lockdowns brought Zach and I together, I think for every couple there were times that we were like oh my god we’re spending too much time together but also there were moments where we were so grateful that we got on so well,” she told May’s issue of Stellar magazine.

The Tipperary beauty also said rescuing their second dog Milo was a great addition to their house as it helped her other dog Wilco relax a lot more.

She previously told the magazine back in 2017 how “chilled” Zach was.

"Zach is so chilled. I can 100% be myself around him. I always thought I was being myself, but with him I definitely am and he really inspires me to travel more.

"I've turned into more of a yes woman. We have great fun just the two of us. He's my best friend. I think for a lot of people that's hard to find. And he's also the best Instagram boyfriend ever."

She also credited the relationship with giving her a newfound confidence, adding: "I'm just having way more fun these days, I'm way more relaxed. I even switch off my phone a good bit more since I met him."
