A Royal Family superfan has confessed he will "go without food for days" to fund his huge memorabilia collection — which includes a piece of Charles and Diana’s wedding cake. Michael Perkin' became obsessed with collecting all things royal after buying a mug for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002, Wales Online reports.
Since then, the 38-year-old has amassed around 1,000 items of Monarch memorabilia including cups, plates, and milk bottles. He will often spend up to 20 hours a week searching charity shops and jumble sales across Gwent in South Wales for things to add to his array of Royal momentos, with some stores putting items aside especially for him.
Mr Perkins' collection has grown so vast that it has even outgrown his two-bed house in Newport, with some items now kept in storage or with friends. According to an article published online in The Star, he even owns a piece of Charles and Diana’s wedding cake from 1981.
