Several peak mailing periods will be dramatically impacted after Royal Mail workers voted to strike for a further 19 days over the next couple of months.
Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the Christmas build-up could be under threat with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) stating that strike action will take place throughout October and November. There will be a variety of single days and rolling days of action across the Royal Mail Group’s network.
The CWU say that the decision for action comes from an “outrageous” decision by Royal Mail Group’s senior management to pull out from major national agreements and push forward with cuts to workers’ terms and conditions whilst “completely sidelining’ the union.
