A window in the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital broke and "spewed" glass over a public footpath.
The ground floor window of the hospital's support services building broke and according to eyewitnesses the glass "spewed everywhere" after falling on Friday afternoon.
A picture showed the pathway next to the building, on Mount Vernon Street being blocked with red metal fences as a precaution. One eyewitness said: "Good job it didn’t happen when Royals were here."

The hospital confirmed the glass had broken during "recent high winds" and no injuries have been reported.
A spokesperson for Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are working to determine the cause of this window damage, which occurred during recent high winds. The building affected, which is adjacent to the hospital and is not used by patients, remains secure while repairs are carried out. We can confirm that no injuries have been reported.”
Paitents were welcomed into the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital on October, Tuesday 4. It was initially due to open in 2017 but was beset by problems, largely caused by the collapse of construction giant Carillion.
