Outraged TV viewers have slammed certain Coronation guests for not brushing up on their manners ahead of the ceremony.
The momentous occasion, which has seen dignitaries gather from across the world before arriving in London decked out in their finest, is history in the making.
But not everyone is showing the day or its sacred venue the respect it deserves, at least according to Twitter users.
As the country awaits the King's arrival, people flocked to Twitter to criticise some of the guests already assembled - for chewing gum while they wait.
"Anyone notice that lots of guests are chewing gum? What's the deal with that? #Coronation.
"Now I've noticed it I can't stop spotting more and more people sitting in the abbey chewing," wrote one disgusted fan.
A second asked: "Why so many people are chewing gums? Sacrilege :) What happened to British manners? #Coronation"
"Stop Chewing!" another demanded, meanwhile someone else complained: "Chewing gum, really! At the coronation. Not a basketball game."
Although King Charles' accession took place instantly when his mother, Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022, The Coronation is an official mark of his power.
Thousands of people have gathered to line the streets of central London to take watch the procession and take part in the pageantry.
Viewing areas are open along the 1.3 mile procession route, which stretches from Buckingham Palace, down the Mall via Admiralty Arch to Westminster Abbey.
Though no official guest list has been announced, it's believed 100 heads of state have accepted invitations, as well as UK parliamentarians and celebrities.
While the eyes of the world will be on King Charles, many will also be keeping a close watch on his sons Prince William and Harry.
The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation alone, while his wife Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will remain at home in California.
