Following the sad news of the Queen's death on Thursday, royal fans have been keeping a keen eye on social media for updates on Britain's most famous family and our new monarch, King Charles III. As many people were following the movements of the Queen's relatives between Scotland and London, some also were keen to know more about her beloved dogs - and what was going to happen to them.
An image of four corgis being carried off a royal plane is currently going viral online, as many have mistaken the snap for a new photograph of the Queen's dogs - but this couldn't be further from the truth.

The sombre image of the two men dressed in black, carrying the corgis off the plane was actually taken in 1993 and shows the Queen Mother's dogs. They were arriving back at Heathrow following a summer spent in Balmoral.
A number of people have fallen for the blunder and shared the picture on Twitter, claiming that it made them emotional.
One person said: "And then one improbably photograph hits you unexpectedly hard."
Another claimed they could see "sadness" in the dogs' eyes, while a different user shared the picture, writing: "The Quen's corgis being brought back from Balmoral. Dogs don't understand death, and when their owner dies they get depressed while also looking for any sign that they have returned. It's truly heartbreaking if you've ever experienced it."

The Queen owned two corgis before she passed away, named Muick and Sandy, both of which were gifted to her by Prince Andrew in 2021.
The Duke of York has since confirmed that following the death of the Queen, he and his ex-wife Sarah, the Duchess of York will take care of the corgis.
