Royal Family won't engage with Prince Harry's accusations as there is 'no trust left'

Prince Harry has reportedly burned his bridges with the Royal Family as Palace sources say there is 'no trust' left.

The Royals have been rocked by a number of shocking bombshells that the Duke of Sussex has written in his memoir Spare, as well as in promotional interviews. Despite telling journalists Tom Bradby and Anderson Cooper that he wants reconciliation with his family, Harry left viewers stunned with some of his comments.

Sources at Buckingham Palace told The Mirror there is “no trust left” between senior royals and the Duke after he took aim at his family in recent weeks. This comes after Harry labelled Queen Consort Camilla as "the villain" and claimed she “sacrificed me on her personal PR altar” with negative story leaks to the press.

King Charles and Prince William are both reportedly "burning with anger” over Harry's decision to bare all for the world in his deeply personal and intimate memoir. The Duke claimed the Prince of Wales allegedly attacked him in his home in 2019 and grabbed him round the collar after their grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021.

Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have refused to publicly respond to allegations that the Prince of Wales physically attacked Harry, and that the King struggled to deal with becoming a single parent.

A royal source said: “The irony is there for all to see, apart from Harry himself it seems. There was very little (trust) before these latest scenes, but there is no trust left at all for Harry to be brought into the fold.”

Facing huge backlash for his decision to publicise this information, Harry defended his decision to sell his story with his $20million book contract and $100million Netflix deal, saying it was his opportunity to tell the truth.

He told ITV's Bradby and CNN’s Cooper on Sunday that he and wife Meghan Markle would be willing to take a role in support of the monarchy in the Commonwealth. Harry told Bradby: “I don’t know whether they’ll be watching this [interview] or not, but, what they have to say to me and what I have to say to them will be in private, and I hope it can stay that way.”

He also told Cooper that his offer of a partial royal role based overseas is still on the table pending “frank discussions that don’t leak out”. He said “100% reconciliation” was achievable but said his family needed to take “accountability”.

In his latest interview yesterday with Good Morning America, Harry was asked whether his book will heal the rift between his family. The Duke solemnly said: “I thought about it long and hard, and as far as I see it the divide couldn’t be greater before this book.”

But he said that if reconciliation does not happen, he will focus on his life and family, adding: “I’m not angry any more. There are things that will still anger me, but I’m not angry any more, because I am exactly where I am supposed to be.”
