Royal Birkdale to host 2026 British Open golf championship

NEW DELHI: The prestigious 2026 British Open will be held at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England, the tournament organisers announced on Tuesday in London.

This will mark the 11th time that Royal Birkdale hosts the golf championship. The most recent visit to the venue took place in 2017, where Jordan Spieth emerged as the winner, claiming the Claret Jug.
