Frankie Dettori celebrated his 80th winner at Ascot by winning the Albany Stakes on Porta Fortuna on Friday.
The veteran jockey, who won the Gold Cup for the ninth time on Thursday, continued his extraordinary swansong at Royal Ascot. The 52-year-old got the day off to a fantastic start in the sunshine before giving an emotional reaction.
"80 for Royal Ascot, unbelievable!" he told ITV. "I've fulfilled my dream. Ascot has been very special to me. It's incredible and I'm very lucky."
Dettori’s win in the Albany Stakes was followed by the Commonwealth Cup (15:05), Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (15:40) and Coronation Stakes (16:20). The names of the races were fitting, with King Charles III and Queen Camilla in attendance.
