Frankie Dettori has received the ultimate honour at Royal Ascot on Saturday - a seat in the Royal procession.
The superstar jockey is competing for the final time at the world-famous race meeting before he retires from the saddle at the end of the season.
To mark his achievements at the meeting, where his 81 wins make him the most successful active jockey at Royal Ascot, he was invited to join the Royal Family at Windsor Castle on the final day.
With five more horses to ride, he was expected to politely decline food and the lunch with the King and Queen and their guests in order to preserve his weight.
But he was due to join Their Majesties when they left Windsor to travel to the racecourse by Royal carriage.
Dettori, and wife Catherine, were sat in the last of the four carriages with racehorse trainer Jamie Snowden and his wife Lucy.
After a bumpy start in which he collected a nine-day riding ban, which he is appealing against, the 52-year-old Dettori has enjoyed another rewarding five days.
He has ridden four winners, the best of which was victory in the Gold Cup for the ninth time on Thursday, and is one win behind Ryan Moore in the race to be leading jockey, a title he was won seven times.
His book of rides on Saturday sees Covey as favourite for the Jersey Stakes, Free Wind a short price in the Hardwicke, Kinross fancied in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes and Knockbrex the market leader in the Golden Gates Handicap. He also rides Mums Tipple in the Wokingham.
