Roy Makaay is back in football after landing his first role since leaving Rangers.
The Dutchman has hooked up with European giants Bayern Munich to take charge of their World Squad. It is a project the Bundesliga giants have ran, together with partner Volkswagen, since 2021 with Under-19 talents from across the globe offered the chance to fulfil their dream of becoming a professional footballer.
Following his stint at Ibrox with Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the former striker has been out of work but has now landed a new gig. He was part of the backroom team at Rangers that landed a Scottish Cup triumph and went all the way to the Europa League Final before a heartbreaking defeat on penalties to Frankfurt.

The 48-year-old has vast experience at the top level as a player and is looking forward to the challenge of working with young talents with Hasan Salihamidzic citing Makaay's 'phenomenal experience' as a valuable aid for the aspiring talents.
He told the official Bayern Munich website: “I’m looking forward to this unique challenge of working with young players from all over the world and different cultures.
"We want to get the best out of every player in this elite football project and offer them the best possible platform at FC Bayern to get closer to their dream of being a professional footballer.”
Hasan Salihamidžić, FC Bayern board member for sport added: “We’re very proud of how the FC Bayern World Squad project has developed on a sporting level during the first two years.
"Now we’re very keen to see if one or two talents have the potential to make the step up again this year and can use it as a springboard for their career.
"Roy Makaay, with his phenomenal experience as a player at the highest level for many years, will be a valuable aid to the talents.”
