Roy Keane offered invitation as Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp fumes

Liverpool's dream of winning a sensational quadruple remains very much alive after their FA Cup quarter-final win over Nottingham Forest.

Diogo Jota scored the only goal 12 minutes from time as the Reds earned a 1-0 win against the Championship side on Sunday evening, reports The Liverpool Echo.

They will now face Manchester City in the semi-finals.

But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at the City Ground...

Klopp not impressed

With only one goal in the game, there was always going to be a tense finale as Forest decided to go for it in the closing stages. That, though, gave Liverpool ample opportunity to counter-attack, with the visitors working several moments in which to make the game safe.

They didn't take them, though. And that led to the sight of Klopp bouncing on the touchline waving his arms in the air in fury and frustration as yet another attack came to nothing.

Between that and asking fourth official Kevin Friend just when the game was ever going to be stopped, small wonder the Liverpool boss was a relieved man at the final whistle.

Fabinho nearly fab

One of the more intriguing aspects of Liverpool this calendar year has been the goalscoring form of Fabinho. And clearly the Reds are looking for new ways to make the most of the Brazilian's new-found prowess at set-pieces.

At least that's how it appeared when, in the first half, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain swept in a low corner from the right and Fabinho drifted away from his marker to meet the delivery, only to drag his shot narrowly wide.

Even this late into the season, the Reds are looking for new ways to open up teams. Better luck next time, Fab.

Keane's keen

There was an amusing aside after the game as representatives from both teams underwent their usual post-match duties pitchside. Walking past was former Forest favourite Roy Keane and Robbie Fowler, with the pair stopped by ex-Norway international striker Jan Aage Fjortoft, now a television presenter and media columnist.

He shook Keane's hand and said: "Look, I have an invitation for you - when Erling Haaland moves to England, I want you to be a special guest with his father at the first game. Do we have a deal?"

Keane, to be fair, laughed and then agreed. Not sure what Haaland's father would make of it, though.

Forest fired

There was a lively old atmosphere in the City Ground on Liverpool's first visit there in 23 years, even if some of the chants from the home supporters ranged from the humorously surreal - "Jurgen Klopp, your trainers are s**" - to the downright vile, which we won't repeat here.

But there was one ditty that left plenty of observers scratching their heads as Forest fans addressed what they, not entirely inaccurately, believed was a pretty quiet away end for such an important and lively encounter.

"Where's your famous atmosphere?" was the shout. Er, that'll be at Anfield. Please keep up.
