Roy Keane has joked that French manager Didier Deschamps will resign out of fear of playing Ireland.
France lost today's World Cup final on penalties after a Lionel Messi masterclass propelled Argentina to their first World Cup triumph since 1986.
Republic of Ireland are France's next opponents and the two sides will face off in European championship qualifying early next year.

France will be massive favourites for that game when they come to the Aviva Stadium, with many expecting them even now months before the game to have far too much for Ireland.
Keane however is taking a much more optimistic view and cheekily suggested that the defeated World Cup manager may leave his role before facing Ireland in March.
The suggestion brought out a chuckle from both Gary Neville and Ian Wright on ITV's coverage of the final.
Unfortunately for Stephen Kenny, even without Deschamps, France still boast one of the most talented squads in the world and will be overwhelming favourites when the sides take to the field at Lansdowne road next year.
