Roy Keane has joked that Steven Gerrard would have been in the reserves if he joined Manchester United under his watch.

Jamie Carragher revealed that Keane's former teammate Gary Neville attempted to recruit the Liverpool captain to their great rivals but it landed on deaf ears.

And Keane, who is a major admirer of his former rival, reckons Gerrard would have had to bide his time behind him and legendary Old Trafford star Paul Scholes.
