Roy Keane and Graeme Souness disagree over Manchester City title bid

Roy Keane and Graeme Souness are at odds over whether Manchester City will claim their third successive Premier League title next season.

The defending champions pipped Liverpool to the crown by a point last season, as they did in the 2018/19 campaign. It was Pep Guardiola’s fourth league success in five years.

And he has improved his squad further already this summer, bringing in superstar Erling Haaland, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega, as well as welcoming January recruit Julian Alvarez to the Etihad.

The majority of onlookers are tipping Liverpool and City to go toe-to-toe again this time around with many forecasting the Blues to complete a hat-trick of titles. Keane is one of those who believes they will go all the way again, even with the losses of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.

When asked who his tip is for the league by Sky Bet, he said: “Man City. Brilliant players, they’ve obviously improved, an unbelievable striker and they’ve got one of the greatest managers ever in Pep.”

However, Sky Sports colleague Souness, maybe unsurprisingly, disagreed. The Anfield legend said: “I think Liverpool will win it. They came so close last year.”
