Member for Barwon Roy Butler has quit the Shooters, Fishers, and Farmers party after a failed leadership challenge against party leader Rob Borsak.
Roy Butler and Phil Donato had threatened to leave the party unless Mr Borsak quit, but failed to unseat him at an annual general meeting vote on Saturday.
After failing to oust the party leader, the two MPs announced they will be running as an independent at the upcoming state election.
