Ross Wilson Rangers exit 'agreed' as Nottingham Forest move looms

Ross Wilson's Rangers departure has been agreed, according to a report.

The Ibrox club and Nottingham Forest are believed to have struck a deal for the 39-year-old to join the Premier League club.

A report first emerged last night to state that Forest had identified Wilson as their number one target to replace Filippo Giraldi as their sporting director.

Now, the Telegraph claims that a move has been agreed upon by both clubs.

The report states that Wilson is now expected to sort personal terms, with an imminent conclusion on the horizon.

So, it appears the Ibrox transfer chief is Forest-bound with a move to the City Ground - where he will fulfill a 'senior football role' - expected to be confirmed soon.

Wilson joined Rangers in 2019 as its sporting director.

His record over transfers has brought about some hefty criticism from sections of the Ibrox support, with Managing Director Stewart Robertson also coming under fire.

Banners were unveiled ahead of a clash with Fir Park last month that read 'Time for Change'.

Wilson has previous experience in English football, having worked for Watford, Huddersfield Town, and Southampton.

Kris Boyd believes the move would be the best outcome "for all parties".

The former Ibrox striker backed up the fans' opinion over Rangers' recruitment policy under Wilson's watch.

He told Sky Sports: "When that is your role at the club you're always going to be judged on it. There's been a lot of criticism flying about I've had my say on it numerous times as well.

"There's no doubt the recruitment at Rangers over the last few years hasn't been good enough. There's no getting away from it and I think the fans have had enough. You've seen them turn on Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson.

"You don't like to see it but they are the ones that are paid the money and the fans are turning up and they want better.

"If the opportunity comes around for him to go to a massive club in Nottingham Forest then you would feel it would be too good for him to turn down.

"There has been a lot of good things happened. It's not all been negative. But once the fans start to voice their opinion at the level they have recently, it's only going to end one way and it could be best for all parties."
