ROSS COUNTY midfielder Josh Sims says the Highlanders intend to get in Celtic's faces when the Hoops travel to Dingwall on Saturday (3pm).
Ange Postecoglou's men - double winners last term - go north to take on top-six shock troops County after a routine 2-0 win over Aberdeen in their league opener.
The Staggies, meanwhile, lost 2-1 to Hearts in their own curtain-raiser but Sims reckons playing an even bigger team next is actually something to relish.
The 25-year-old says he intends to make life as uncomfortable as possible for the champions and see how they react.
“The bigger teams expect for it to be easy for them, so when it actually isn’t they almost don’t know how to react to it," Sims told The Press and Journal. "They are so used to having everything their way, they are comfortable and can pick any pass they want.
“When you get into their faces they are not used to it, so we can take that same concept into the game against Celtic. We will show no fear and see how it goes.”
Sims is one of several competing for game-time in Malky Mackay's new-look County side - with the summer acquisitions of Owura Edwards, William Akio, Kazeem Olaigbe and Yan Dhanda giving the Highlanders some much-needed depth.
Former Southampton youngster Sims reckons that intra-squad rivalry can only be good for them as they prepare to face the Premiership champions.
He added: "Competition is always good. When you have got more than one person fighting for a position, it takes both of you up to another level.
“You are not resting, thinking you are going to play at the weekend regardless.
“In training every week you have got to be on your top form to show the manager you should be playing at the weekend.
“It’s only good having that competition, and everyone here wants to play. You’ve got to show why that should be you in the starting 11.”
