Rosanna Davison shares throwback picture from her Miss World days

Former Miss World Rosanna Davison has said she feels “grateful” she had an internet-free childhood.

The daughter of singer Chris De Burgh shared an unrecognisable throwback snap of herself when she was just 19-years-old.

The mum-of-three reflected on her time during the Miss World competition, saying the world has changed so much.

She said: "I came across this photo during a cupboard clear out a while ago.

"I was just 19 or 20 and on a trip as @missworld in Sanya, China, with Miss China and Miss Canada.

"It got me thinking about how much the world has changed in that time, and how my own life has unfolded.

"Looking back, I feel that life was simpler without social media and I always feel grateful to have had an internet-free childhood.

"It also made me consider the advice that I’d give to my younger self, which I just wrote briefly below.

"What advice would you give to your younger self?"

Rosanna then shared some of the advice she would give her younger self if she could.

She continued by saying: "Plan for the future but be prepared to be open-minded and flexible. Life is never as predictable or as straightforward as you expect and that’s what makes it interesting!

"Don’t try to please everyone all of the time. Not everybody is going to like you and that’s just life. What others think of you is actually none of your business.

"Try not to compare yourself to others. Instead, focus on being the best version of yourself each day. Value your unique talents, how you can contribute to the world and help others.

"Life is short. Spend time with the people you love, invest in your friendships, take the risks, chase the opportunities, follow your passions and don’t worry about things that won’t even matter in a week, a month or a year.

"Treat your rejections, disappointments, losses and difficult times in life as an opportunity to grow, learn and develop your emotional maturity. Nobody has a perfect life!"
