Former Miss World Rosanna Davison has said her Ukrainian surrogate and her family are settling into Irish life – and says her partner has found a job.
The model and author welcomed her first daughter Sophia via surrogacy in 2019 after Anastasia Berezan carried their child. Rosanna and Wes then went on to give birth to twins Hugo and Oscar in 2020.
Rosanna and Wes welcomed Anastasia, her family and their pet husky to Ireland last month after they escaped the Ukrainian war and she shared an update of how they’re getting on in Ireland, saying they are settling in very well.
She told us: “Good. They’re really exploring now. They’ve been on the Luas, the dart, the bus and her partner has a job now and her little girl is in school so they are really settling in well.
“They’re really enjoying it. It’s nice to see Dublin through their eyes.
“They don’t have English. We communicate through Google translate.”
Speaking about motherhood, mum-of-three Rosanna admits there are times when the toddlers can test the couple’s patience.
“I mean, the good parts, it is amazing, it’s rewarding, you’re so bursting with love and gratitude, especially after what we have been through. "Then there are the hard parts, which is that it is challenging it, tests your patience. There is a lot of growth that goes on, I mean, I’d say to Wes, they’re only small and they’re only learning.
“They are only new to the world; they don’t know the things that we know like their behaviour or throw food around.
“There are frustrating times of course when you’re constantly cleaning up after them,” she said laughing.
And speaking at the Platinum VIP Style Awards on Friday, Rosanna said she will continue to shield the trio's faces until they tell her they would like to be online to protect their security.
“The odd time (I get asked) but I find most people understand and they totally appreciate it. I see more and more people doing the same.
“You want to share your story or your motherhood journey or parenthood, but you don’t necessarily want to make them identifiable. It’s out of this huge responsibility of wanting to protect their security and their safety and maybe give them the choice when they’re older.
“And maybe they will get to when they are 16 and 18 and they’ll say ‘yeah, we want to be on it’ and then I’ll show them, but I want them to decide about their digital footprint.”
But she revealed how the boys look a lot like Wes, while Sofia looks like Rosanna, adding: “They’re gorgeous and they’re so cute. Sofia looks a lot like me. She’s got brown eyes.”
