Rosanna Davison confirms arrival of her Ukrainian surrogate after 'huge logistical challenge'

Rosanna Davison has confirmed that after a long journey from Ukraine, her daughter Sophia's gestational surrogate has arrived safely in Ireland with her family.

The Irish model and former Miss World took to Instagram to post a sweet picture of them at Dublin airport with Anastasiia Berezan and her family.

In a post on Instagram, she explained: "Wes and I first met this incredibly brave, kind woman in Kyiv just before she gave birth to our little girl, Sophia.

"At the time, we couldn’t even find the words to express our gratitude for giving us our much-longed-for baby, so when the war began back in February, we offered her a safe home in Ireland.

"She gave us the greatest gift of all and now it was our turn to help her."

According to reports, it took two months for Anastasiia to flee Kherson City in the south of Ukraine.

Rosanna revealed that it was then a "huge logistical challenge" to get them from Poland to Germany and finally on to Ireland.

"We did it with the help of some very generous, compassionate people, including my wonderful parents,” Rosanna said.

“And lots of my friends have been so generous with their time and support - you know who you are and I can’t thank you enough!”

The mother-of-three said the family are settling in well to their new home in Dublin and are beginning to find their way around.

"There’s been so much support in the community for Ukrainian families in Ireland, and they really appreciate all of the kindness.

“Irish people are truly amazing," she said.
