Scotland wilted in the Israeli sun and crashed out of the Euro Under 17s Finals after their second defeat of the tournament, despite an equaliser from Rangers starlet Rory Wilson.
Brian McLaughlin's side were hoping to bounce back after an opening game mauling by the Portuguese, but they struggled to adapt to the mid-afternoon 33 degrees heat in the Ramat Gan and could have no complaints about the outcome.
Wilson had given them hope with an against the run-of-play leveller, but they conceded less than a minute after the restart when Celtic 's Magnus Mackenzie netted an unfortunate own goal and the Scots kids will now have only pride to play for when they face Sweden in the final game on Monday.
McLaughlin made three changes from the opening day defeat to Portugal with Motherwell's Lennon Miller, Dundee United's Rory MacLeod and Dylan Lobban from Aberdeen all included.
Scotland lost a goal within eight minutes against Portugal and they would have lost another one here in the seventh minute if it wasn't for an outstanding block from captain Charlie McArthur to prevent Valdemar Byskov from opening the scoring.
Rangers starlet Rory Wilson attempted an ambitious effort from 40 yards when he spotted Denmark keeper Theo Sander off his line, but his effort sailed wide.
It needed a fine reaction save from Ibrox keeper Jacob Pazikas to keep out an effort from Danish captain Julius Beck, who plays for Spezia in Italy.
Scotland were visibly tiring in the heat and Denmark took a deserved lead in the 33rd minute when Pazikas could only parry a shot from Elias Hansborg-Sorensen and Randers striker Alexander Simmelhack nodded home the rebound.
However, the young Scots were gifted an equaliser just two minutes later when St Mirren's Benfica-linked midfielder Dylan Reid clipped a ball into the back post and Danish defender Mads Nybo could only head the ball into the path of Wilson who coolly rounded the keeper to score.
Scotland held out in the second half for just 51 seconds after the restart when the Danes found far too much space down the left wing and Hansborg-Sorensen's cross was deflected into his own net by unfortunate Celtic defender Magnus Mackenzie.
The young Scots were barely able to get the ball out of their own half as the second half progressed with the Danes in command and Pazikas saved with his legs from Guslav Fraulo.
And it was game over with 19 minutes to go when Scotland's central defence was opened up with a simple ball through the middle and Odense midfielder Markus Jensen easily netted past Pazikas.
Partick Thistle's Cameron Cooper and Killie kid McArthur were denied by excellent saves from Aalborg keeper Theo Sander, but Scotland were well beaten.
