A financial paper recently reported that Rory McIlroy was rumored to be close to an $850 million deal with LIV Golf, sparking speculation and innuendo. McIlroy swiftly denied these claims, stating he had never been offered such a deal and had no intention of joining LIV Golf. He reiterated his commitment to playing on the PGA Tour for the rest of his career.

Meanwhile, LIV Golf's commissioner, Greg Norman, made his presence felt at the Masters, expressing gratitude for the support he received from spectators.

In women's golf, Nelly Korda aims to make history by winning her fifth straight tournament at The Chevron Championship, joining the ranks of Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam. The tournament also announced a significant purse increase to $7.9 million, aligning it more closely with other major championships in women's golf.

Patrick Reed's performance at the Masters helped him climb in the world rankings, securing a potential invitation to the upcoming PGA Championship. Reed emphasized the importance of playing good golf to earn exemptions for major tournaments.

At the Masters, Scottie Scheffler displayed a touching gesture by waiting for his caddie to walk off the 18th green together, showcasing camaraderie and respect.

Viewership for the Masters final round saw a slight decline compared to the previous year, attributed to various factors including the timing of the event and streaming options. Scottie Scheffler leads the PGA Tour in birdie average and bogey avoidance, while Webb Simpson seeks to improve his FedEx Cup standing through sponsor exemptions.

As golf continues to captivate audiences with its competitive spirit and personal moments, players like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy remain in the spotlight for their on-course performances and off-course decisions.
