Rookie Darius Robinson ‘on track’ to make NFL debut vs. Vikings

Arizona Cardinals fans were disappointed when rookie defensive lineman Darius Robinson didn’t make his NFL debut on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks after his first full week of practice of the season.

That disappointment shouldn’t last much longer.

Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Monday that Robinson “is on track to play” this week against the Minnesota Vikings.

Robinson began the season on injured reserve for a calf injury he sustained in practice after the final preseason game. He had his practice window opened on Oct. 9, but had “discomfort” after one practice. Between that and the death of his mother, he didn’t practice until this past week. He was limited all week and questionable to play against the Seahawks, and he was seen warming up on the field pregame. However, he was deactivated and did not dress for the game.

Gannon noted that they will take things with Robinson “day by day,” but it would appear that the plan is for him to make his debut in Minnesota.

The Cardinals and Vikings kick off from U.S. Bank Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
