Roof of popular supermarket collapses as debris falls down onto busy street

  • The roof of an Iceland supermarket in March High Street, Cambridgeshire , collapsed on Tuesday, 28 July.
  • Footage showed masonry falling onto the high street, with eyewitnesses reporting an 'explosion-like' sound.
  • Emergency services responded to the incident, and the supermarket and an adjacent building were immediately evacuated.
  • A police cordon was put in place, and structural engineers arrived the following day to assess the damage.
  • Cambridgeshire Police confirmed that no injuries were reported from the collapse.
