Ronny Deila has it out with Standard Liege star as former Celtic boss leaves striker 'astonished' with sub decision

Ronny Deila has sent a firm reminder to one of his Standard Liege players over who is boss after the former Celtic manager had to deal with an on-pitch disagreement.

Ferran Jutgla and Bjorn Meijer goals inflicted a 2-0 defeat from Club Brugge upon his team but they are still well in the hunt for a top four spot in Belgium's top flight. There had to be strong words handed out to 20-year-old striker Noah Ohio though, who after Deila's decision to sub him 10 minutes after half-time, did not take kindly to the decision.

It's claimed by Les Sports that the Dutchman 'did not hide his astonishment' when the former Celtic gaffer decided his time in the match was up. There were then some unpleasantries muttered as he stropped off and the Norwegian has told his man that such conduct is not acceptable and must be held for accountability. He said: "We have already talked about it in the locker room.

"I hope this is the first and last time I see this. I make my decisions as a coach, he makes his decisions, as a player, on the pitch, you have to be loyal.

"He can come see me in my office, my door is always open, but to do what he did in front of 25,000 people, I don't think that's right. He will learn from what happened.”

During his time in Glasgow, Deila won two Premiership titles and a League Cup, still held favorably by the Celtic support. He's since managed Valerenga, New York City and now Standard Liege.
