Ronnie Wood gets satisfaction from spending time with his twins and drinking coffee after quitting booze and drugs.
The Rolling Stones guitarist, who turns 75 tomorrow, revealed he feels "reborn" before the band plays their first gig of a new tour in Spain.
But there will be no wild party for Ronnie after they play Madrid's Metropolitano Stadium tomorrow.
His wife Sally Humphreys and six-year-old daughters Alice and Gracie are also in Spain and the family will enjoy a celebratory tea party with birthday cake.
A source close to the band said: "Ronnie is teetotal and hasn't smoked for three years.
"These days he loves a double espresso so Ronnie will have a couple of those and cake in the afternoon before he heads to the stadium. It is a different party to how things used to be on the road, but he is very happy."
They added: "Before the show Mick, Keith, Ronnie and the backing singers tend to bash out some rock 'n' roll tunes to warm up, so no doubt Happy Birthday will be sung too."
After playing in Spain and Germany later in the week, the band have several gigs in the UK this Summer. They will appear at BST Hyde Park festival on June 26 and July 3 after playing Liverpool FC's Anfield stadium on June 9.
Ronnie posted a touching photo of himself with his twins this week to mark their birthday.

In an interview with Esquire, he said: "Life has given me the opportunity to raise girls again at this age. My older children have grown up, now two babies run around the house again.
"Alice and Gracie and her mother are a blessing. I like to have them close. They come with me everywhere. They are globetrotters."
Ronnie, who married theatre producer Sally in 2012, successfully fought lung cancer after 54 years of smoking.
He had part of his lung removed before it was confirmed he was cancer free in 2018. He also had small cell cancer during lockdown but has had the all-clear.
Asked if his new life with wife Sally makes him feel "reborn," he said: "Without a doubt. I have a new private life, recovered health, new inspirations.
"The energy is profoundly renewed. And now I need that energy more than anything. After all, we are facing the last tour!"
Quizzed if he meant this was the last Stones tour, he said: "Well, all the tours are the last one. You never know what will happen next. All tours are a mystery. But there is no doubt that this one is especially so."
