Ronan Keating hints daughter Missy, 21, could appear in this year's Love Island

Ronan Keating hesitated when asked if his 21-year-old daughter, Missy, would star in Love Island this year.

Ronan, 45, appeared on Good Morning Britain this week and kept his lips sealed when presenters asked whether his offspring, who he shares with ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, would be cast in the hit reality show.

There have been rising speculations that Missy may be a contestant on this year's Love Island - but Ronan kept his mouth firmly shut when presenters asked him if this was true, writes the Mirror.

Host Ben Shephard asked him: "I'm very excited as you know, I am a watcher of television, to hear the rumour that Missy your daughter may be making her way onto Love Island?'

"Is there any truth, will we be watching her on the new series?"

To which Ronan replied: 'I haven't heard anything but you never know, these kids are busy.

"All my kids they're all busy doing different things, I haven't heard anything myself at the moment."

Kate Garraway then asked the 45-year-old: "How would you feel? Because I am sure you love Love Island but I wonder if it's different if you are a dad with a daughter on it.'

Swerving the question, Ronan replied: "Pass, yeah I don't know how I feel about that one. I wouldn't be able to watch."

Rumours have been swirling on Missy's possible appearance on the popular ITV2 show, and she is no stranger to the telly.

The 21-year-old has recently appeared on Ireland's Dancing With The Stars, where she and her dance partner Ervinas Merfeldas became the first contestants voted off.

Back in 2020, the Boyzone singer admitted that his daughter was 'getting a lot of offers' from reality shows.

During a chat on Martin and Roman's Sunday Best at the time, he said: "She’s getting a lot of offers from different reality TV shows to do different things. She’s a very confident girl."

He added: "She’s beautiful, she’s got her head on her shoulders, she’s a grafter. I mean, my dad taught all of his kids to be the grafter and work hard.

"He believed the football player that trained the hardest got his game on Sunday and that’s something that was instilled in me and I think my kids have that now and it’s just amazing."

Ronan posted a heartfelt tribute to Missy as he and his ex-wife Yvonne celebrated her 21st birthday in February.

He posted a black and white photo to Instagram, with the pair seen laughing together, captioning the picture: "Happy Birthday to my Missy Moo. This picture says it all. We laugh Moo all the time. My family are my world my kids are me.

"I am so bloody proud of you Sweetheart. You walk into a room and the place lights up. You are my sunshine.

"I cannot believe you are 21 the years have flown. But you have blossomed into everything I could ever want in a daughter and more. Storm and I love you with all our hearts.

"We know you are ready for the world now moo I just don't think the world is ready for Missy. Love ya sweetheart."
