Up to 15 people have been injured in a bus crash in East London this afternoon.

Police raced to the scene following reports of a bus colliding with a wall at about 1.55pm in Romford.

The London Ambulance Service also attended and said they treated up to 15 casualties.

A spokesperson from the London Ambulance Service confirmed five people have been taken to hospital for their injuries, MyLondon reports.

A further one went to the hospital themselves, and the remaining nine were checked over and discharged at the scene.

Images from the scene show a large cordon in place as a double-decker bus is beyond a tree and past a wall.
