Romeo Beckham, son of England and Manchester United legend David, has been training with Brentford’s B-team this week.
The 20-year-old, once on Arsenal’s books, is contracted to Inter Miami, the US franchise co-owned by his father, and featured for their reserve side in the MLS Next Pro division last season.
Last week, Beckham was pictured training with his former school side on a visit to the UK and has now joined sessions with Brentford’s B-team, though it is unclear how long he will be with the Premier League club, nor the nature of his involvement.
Meanwhile, Thomas Frank’s first team return to action tomorrow at Newcastle, where Ethan Pinnock could make his first appearance of the season.
The centre-back has been sidelined since pre-season because of a knee injury. His return is particularly timely, with club captain Pontus Jansson out with a hamstring issue.
“Ethan’s an option,” Frank said. “Of course, he lacks sharpness but he’s been fit the last couple of weeks.”
