Romeo Beckham’s All-Black Kitchen Breaks Every Traditional Design Rule – and Redefines What a Modern Kitchen Looks Like for 2026

Romeo Beckham.

Let's be honest: black paint isn't typically isn't most of our first picks for a kitchen. However, dark paints and decor can actually be incredibly versatile and chic, as proven by Romeo Beckham.

The model recently shared a snap of himself in his family's moody kitchen, featuring black-painted walls, black countertops, and black and silver appliances.

The overall look is sleek, modern, and slightly edgy, giving us some major black kitchen ideas – even when we thought we'd never fall for this paint color.

Design experts say that covering your kitchen with black paint or accessories is a fantastic option; however, kitchen size is a contributing factor to the final result.

'Adding black into your kitchen can be daunting, but if you are looking for a way to add an elevated and sophisticated look to your home, it can be a great option,' Michael Rolland, paint expert and managing director at The Paint Shed.

He continues, 'It's important when painting kitchens black to consider some options, firstly, the size of your kitchen. If you are working with a small space, adding all-over dark paint can make the room feel even smaller. Use black paint to create features within the room. Opt for painting lower cabinets black and pair them with lighter-colored upper cabinets to avoid closing in the space.

As a general rule of thumb, the larger the space (and the more exposure to natural light there is), the easier it is to color-drench with a dark color like black.

'In bigger, brighter spaces with a lot of natural light, embrace the dark side and paint both the kitchen cupboards and walls black,' Michael explains. 'It is important to remember to balance out the use of black within the space, for example, using metallic hardware and adding highlights with lighter color accessories.'

Plus, you don't need to play with the paintbrush to experiment with Brooklyn's look. You can recreate his style with this flatware cutlery set from Target, as well as this gooseneck kettle from Crate & Barrel. Even the simplest of accessories will bring his daring flair to your own space.
