Romeo and Duet Edinburgh contestant left with ‘goosebumps’ after hearing fellow contestant’s singing voice

The new dating game show, Romeo and Duet, aired for another episode this Saturday (May 21) evening on ITV. Hosted by Oti Mabuse, the show’s first episode was on April 16, 2022.

Romeo and Duet sees contestants who are looking for love listening to a potential match sing their hearts out. The contestant then makes the decision whether or not they would like to come down the stairs to meet the singer in person to go on a duet date with.

The first contestant to take to the stage on Saturday night was Britain’s youngest female undertaker, Rachel. Cheering her on from Twitter, @Flat__l1ned wrote ‘Youngest female undertaker..good for you, girl! #RomeoAndDuet’.

The second contestant on the show was Edinbrugh's Jaimie. Jaimie was taken away by Jonathan who sang to him. He claimed to have 'goosebumps' whilst Jonathan sang.

Commenting on Jaimie’s reaction as he ran to meet the face behind the singing voice, @BCCD230499 wrote ‘he ran down those stairs like he was running for his life #romeoandduet’. @TashaKM15 typed ‘Get you someone who RUNS to you like Jamie did #romeoandduet’.

Another contestant that had viewers tweeting away was Kai who listened to three singers before he made the final decision to meet the third singing contestant behind the voice. When he finally made the decision, some viewers thought that Kai had gone with the first contestant who sang. @_rainnat wrote ‘that ky looks a bit gutted he never went with the 1st #romeoanddue’. @misscatxxxx agreed as she wrote ‘Lol he blew it by not picking the rapping girl #RomeoandDuet’.

Later in the show, Jaimie returned with Jonathon to perform a duet. The pair sang ‘everybody needs somebody’. @TooManyldiots responded to the pair’s performance with ‘they were good #Romeoandduet’.

@Little__louise penned ‘I ♥️Jamie and Jonathan #romeoandduet’. And it was Jaimie and Jonathon who were the winners of the competition as Oti Mabuse announced the couple as the winners.

At the end of the show, it revealed an update that Jaimie and Jonathan went axe throwing for their second date and enjoyed each other's company as the TV text punningly read ‘they were definitely a hit with each other.'
