The International Olympic Committee has made a decision to reallocate a bronze medal in Women's Artistic Gymnastics following a ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The bronze medal will now be awarded to Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu, resulting in US gymnast Jordan Chiles having to return the medal.
In a statement released on Sunday, the IOC confirmed the reallocation of the bronze medal to Barbosu based on the amended ranking by the International Gymnastics Federation. The IOC expressed that they are working with the National Olympic Committee of Romania to arrange a reallocation ceremony for Barbosu and are also in communication with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) regarding the return of the bronze medal.
