Rolex watch and 50k in cash seized after two men arrested at Piccadilly station

Two men have been arrested after being caught with £50,000 in cash and a Rolex watch at Piccadilly train station.

Police made the discovery after stopping the men at the city centre station at 3.25pm yesterday (Wednesday).

Both men, aged 23 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of possession of criminal property. They remain in custody for further questioning.

Detective Inspector James Coles, Head of GMP’s Money Laundering Team said: “We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the ongoing proactive operation called Operation Falcon. This operation is GMP’s response to tackling cash-based money laundering and organised crime in Greater Manchester.

“These arrests are two of the many successes of Operation Falcon and the teams who support it. Of course, our work does not stop here and we will continue to tackle organised crime and we will remove these individuals from our communities.
