NEW DELHI: There were tears of joy, emotional outpourings, cheers, applause, salutes, and love from every corner as Team India brought home the coveted T20 World Cup trophy on Thursday. Rohit Sharma and his team met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, greeted the fans enthusiastically, danced to the beat of dhols, and expressed their gratitude during a Victory Parade from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
One person eagerly awaiting their arrival with tears in her eyes was captain Rohit's mother, Poornima.
As her son arrived, an elated Poornima rushed to the door, hugged him tightly, and showered him with kisses. The emotions on a mother's face and tears in her eyes spoke volumes about her joy at her son's return.
