Rodrigo 'happy' at Leeds United as striker asked about potential Valencia return

Rodrigo has insisted he is focused on Leeds United while flirting with a possible return to Valencia. It has taken a while for the Whites’ record signing to justify his £27million price tag.

With Patrick Bamford’s perennial injury problems proving Leeds’ kryptonite, the 31-year-old has spent most of this season leading the line up front. That faith has been repaid, too, with Rodrigo bagging nine goals to sit comfortably clear at the top of United’s goalscoring charts.

“I have always had a special affection for Valencia and their fans,” Rodrigo said. “We accomplished important things in the years I was there and I am fond of the city, both personally and professionally.

“My daughter was born in Valencia and I spent most of my career there. A return? You never know what the future may bring. Right now, I am very happy at Leeds and fully focused on our objectives.”
