Rodri has signed a three-year contract extension to keep him at Manchester City until 2027. The 26-year-old midfielder was one of City's key performers last season, anchoring the midfield and excelling in both defence and attack at Pep Guardiola's side won a fourth Premier League title in five years.
The announcement contributes to the feeling that this summer is shaping up to be a pretty successful one for City, who have already signed Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega.
That expenditure has been offset by the sales of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling for £45m and £47.5m respectively, decent fees considering that both had just one year left on their contracts.
