Rod Stewart visits Celtic training ground and 'helps' with the laundry

Rod Stewart took to social media to speak about his exciting day visiting the Celtic's training ground.

The rocker has never hidden his love for the Hoops, and can usually be spotted sitting in the stands at Parkhead on match days. However, he swapped the seat for the pitch this time, as he visited the home of Ange Postecoglou's Celtic team, at Lennoxtown.

Writing on social media, Sir Rod said: "Honoured to have visited Celtics training ground ‘Lennoxtown’ with our ‘Hoops’ team @takeleyfc.hoops with @celticfc & @aberdeenfc."

The star snapped a photo of himself standing outside the front entrance in a hooded jumper, jeans and swanky shoes, as he toured the training facilities his club use on the daily.

Posting on his Instagram story, Sir Rod also showed that he isn't afraid to get his hands back into the dirty side of business as he snapped a photo inside the laundry room of the building.

Tagging the football club in his post, Rod captioned the picture, "Laundry Day" as he swirled a stick around the dirty washing basket, grinning all the while.

Also accompanied by his son Aiden, Sir Rod smiled for a photo with his boy on the side of the training pitch, as a couple of kids kicked a football about in the background.

The Scottish legend was also in attendance on Saturday, as Celtic thrashed Hibernian 6-1 on their return to league action after a disappointing Champions League midweek game.

Sir Rod watched on as James Forrest netted a hat-trick and grabbed his 100th goal in green-and-white, joining an elite list of players to have netted 100 goals for the club.

Greek striker Giorgios Giakoumakis scored a brace, while Japanese forward Daizen Maeda grabbed a late goal to seal the victory for the Celts.
