Sir Rod Stewart's son has been hospitalised after being hit by a truck at a red light.
The rocker's eldest son Sean Stewart, 42, took to Instagram to share a selfie in hospital as he donned a neck brace, a gown and a face mask.
Posting to his story, he wrote: "I got hit by a truck at a red light. Hard out here on these streets." Sean is the eldest son of the Maggie May singer and his first wife, Alana Collins.
The accident appears to have happened in the US, as Sean shared a photo taken in Aspen, Colorado, earlier this week.
The Daily Record has contacted for Sean's representatives for comment.
Rod and Sean are extremely close, but last year the pair hit the headlines when they were charged with simple battery following an alleged incident on New Year's Eve 2019 at a plush hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.
Security guard Jessie Dixon claims Sir Rod punched him in the ribs during a row over access to a private party in a children's area at the Breakers Palm Beach Hotel. Sean Stewart is said to have got "nose to nose" with Mr Dixon. Both men deny the charge.
Speaking previously about their relationship, Sean says he goes to his dad for everything, including getting girls. He said: “My dad gives me lots of advice in many areas of my life, including getting girls.
“He says to me, ‘You need to make a girl laugh, charm her, make her feel beautiful, make her feel special and be a gentleman... then you’re in.’ He should know. I’ve most definitely learned from the best. He has given me the secrets of the young Jedi Stewart."
Just earlier this week, Sir Rod revealed he is retiring from “rock ‘n’ roll touring” after next year.
He said: "Next year will be the end of my rock ‘n’ roll touring. I want to do something different. It feels like an end of an era. All things must come to an end."
“I’m not retiring and I still love singing, I just want to do something new. I might do a few folk clubs playing guitar. Just be different.” The father-of-eight – whose youngest sons are 16-year-old Alastair and Aiden, 10 – said family is the reason why he has made the bombshell announcement.
He said: “I don’t want to do the big tours any more, especially in America. It takes me away from my kids for so long. It used to be OK because it was fun and games. It is still fun and games but I miss my kids so much.”
