Rod Stewart has had to postpone two more concerts, days after canceling his 200th show in Las Vegas. The legendary singer shared on Instagram Friday that his concerts in Stateline, NV and Lincoln, CA have been postponed as he recovers from a summer strain of COVID-19. The affected shows on his North American tour have been rescheduled for Aug. 20 and Aug. 18, respectively. Ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled shows.
Earlier this week, Stewart canceled his Aug. 7 performance for his Las Vegas residency, The Hits, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace due to strep throat. This cancellation was particularly significant as it would have marked his 200th show of his 13-year residency at the venue. Stewart expressed his disappointment on Instagram, stating, “I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Most people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted. I’ve been looking forward to this concert for so long. My deepest regrets for any inconvenience this has caused.”
The Las Vegas performance was intended to conclude Stewart's residency, which began in 2011, before he embarked on his 2024 North American tour. However, Stewart announced that the residency will now resume in 2025 for The Encore Shows. His 2024 North American tour is scheduled to continue until Sept. 15, after which he will proceed to Europe for a series of shows. Stewart's new Las Vegas residency is slated to commence in March next year.
