Rod Stewart celebrates Celtic win with family after Hoops lift first silverware of the season

Rod Stewart was certainly in a celebratory mood after Celtic's victory in the Viaplay Cup Final showdown at Hampden.

The Hoops saw off Rangers in a 2-1 victory, with a Kyogo double securing the first silverware of the season for Ange Postecoglou's side.

And the result meant it was a Sunday full of celebrations for the Celtic-daft rocker. Taking to social media, his son Alastair shared videos of the celebrations, with the Maggie May singer singing and putting his hands in the air before wrapping a Celtic scarf around him. Sir Rod is a well-known fan of the club, with the 78-year-old regularly taking family trips to Glasgow's east end to watch the game. And he of course had to be in Hampden to celebrate the occasion.

Just recently Rod attended Celtic Park alongside his three children, Alastair, Liam and daughter Renee. Liam's pregnant girlfriend, Nicole Artukovich, also joined them for the clash which saw Hoops 3-0 victors over Livingston.

After the game this weekend, Celtic boss, Ange Postecoglou, delivered a speech to those in attendance hailing his players and staff for being outstanding and telling fans and his stars to enjoy their night and stay safe.

He said: "I want to pay credit to this group of players, the lads and the staff for being absolutely outstanding.

"They are deserved cup winners and were brilliant today. We showed what this football club is about. We win and we win the right way. That’s the most important thing.

"We’ll enjoy tonight, the players will enjoy it, you’ll enjoy it. Look after each other and stay safe and tomorrow we’ll go again because we never stop."

And Rod certainly looked to have taken the Aussie-born gaffer's advice.
