Rod Stewart has taken to social media to delight his fans with the news of his new whisky brand which will launch next month. The crooner posed beside his new tipple and encouraged his Instagram followers to get ahead of the game in securing a pre-order.
The Maggie May rocker admitted that his new drink 'Wolfie's Whisky' has been in the making for almost two years, and he was delighted to finally share the news online that it would be hitting shelves in June.
He captioned the post: "After almost two years of development, and dozens of whisky tastings, I’m delighted to finally unveil my latest venture, Wolfie's Whisky! Going on sale this June. Make sure you sign up at wolfiesiscoming.com to get your hands on a bottle first…Slàinte! #wolfiesiscoming #wolfieswhisky #arascalofathing."
And it didn't take long for his loyal fleet of 1.3 million Instagram followers to rush to the post to share their joy at the news and praise for the 78-year-old music legend.
One person wrote: "Oooh exciting! Look forward to trying x," whilst another added: "Fantastic! I’ll be having a few."
"Am I going to have to take a trip just to try this? Much success I’m sure, Sir," penned a third fan on the social media post.
But not everyone was excited by the announcement, with one person writing: "Blended? Nope, thanks," which received multiple likes on the comment.
Referencing the opening track from Rod’s 1991 album Vagabond Heart, the lyrics ‘Rhythm of My Heart’ are emblazoned on the base of the bottle. Wolfie’s is made at the Loch Lomond distillery and has been designed to reflect the singer’s rock and roll heritage.
The 40% ABV blended spirit will initially be available online in the UK & across Europe.
Wolfie’s will be available to buy online for £35 from Monday 19 June. Customers will also be in with the chance of finding one of 1,000 bottles of Wolfie’s that have been signed by Sir Rod.
