Rod Stewart and family entourage pose outside Buckingham Palace ahead of Jubilee concert

Sir Rod Stewart and his family were pictured enjoying the sights of Buckingham Palace ahead of Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert.

The concert, which is taking place on June 4, will be celebrating the Queen's 70 years on the throne.

As he gears up for the performance, the I Don't Want to Talk About It singer took to his Instagram Stories to share a sweet photo in front of the Palace.

The musician looked suave as he posed a few steps in front of the rest of the family.

He rocked slim-fitting black trousers, a white button-up shirt, a blue and red flannel coat as well as a brown scarf.

His wife Penny Lancaster, who he married in 2007, stood a metre behind him as she placed her arms around two others.

Rod added a gif that read out 'Sound Check' and also added a Platinum Jubilee hashtag.

A few hours later, he was pictured rehearsing in front of the Palace, as the excitement grows for Party at the Palace.

He appeared in high spirits as he practised his set to stunned Londoners who were passing by.

The singer is joining Queen plus Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Andrea Bocelli and the UK's Eurovision star Sam Ryder for the concert.

Craig David, Mabel, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Ella Eyre, Elbow, Jax Jones, Celeste, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Diversity, George Ezra and Sigala will also be on stage.

Sir Rod said: “Queen Elizabeth has given incredible service to the United Kingdom over the last 70 years and I’m delighted to be able to join her in celebrating her Platinum Jubilee with the Party At The Palace.

Other performers include Diana Ross, Duran Duran and Hans Zimmer.

Iconic soul singer Diana will be closing the show, as she told the BBC she was "absolutely delighted to receive an invitation to perform on such a momentous and historic occasion".

The whole nation will be getting involved in marking the special occasion, with thousands of events all across the UK as well as abroad.

While some will join the crowds in London, many others will take part in local festivities or parties, or raise a glass to her Majesty while watching the events on TV.
