JokerAlarm bells are no doubt going off at Rocksteady as they try to pull any amount of players back into Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The plan for that appears to be steamrolling ahead to get its Joker season out in March as originally planned, even if fixes and balances the game needs may fall by the wayside.
In a recent blog post, Rocksteady confirmed that the plan is still on track to release Suicide Squad’s Joker season in March. Despite the game requiring various fixes and balance adjustments, the focus remains on launching the new content as scheduled.
Previously, Rocksteady had announced intentions to nerf some of the game's most challenging enemies and modifiers, including a nerf to Braniac in his fight. However, these changes have not been implemented yet. The team stated in a recent blog post that their current priority is preparing for the release of the free Season 1 Update, which includes the new playable character Joker, along with new gear and environments.
While addressing ongoing issues such as online connection problems and mastery bugs that have hindered player experience since launch, Rocksteady assured players that they are actively working on resolving these issues. They emphasized that these fixes may not necessarily require a patch and are being investigated separately.
Suicide Squad seems to be aiming to avoid the common pitfall of delaying promised live content due to severe bugs and balance issues, a scenario seen in games like Anthem and Avengers. However, releasing Joker and associated content before addressing critical game issues may not resonate well with the dwindling player base.
The primary concern for the developers likely revolves around the declining player count, with hopes that the introduction of Joker will attract players back to the game. Despite this strategy, doubts remain about the game's longevity and ability to deliver all planned content given its current performance.
It will be interesting to see how Rocksteady navigates these challenges and whether the release of the Joker season will have the desired impact on the game's player engagement. Stay tuned for further updates on the development of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
