After just one season, Rocket Watts is leaving his second MSU basketball team, this time entering the NCAA transfer portal after one season with Mississippi State. Watts started his career with Michigan State before transferring in 2021.
Watts had his worst statistical season with Mississippi State, only averaging 4.4 points per game off the bench. Much of this can likely be attributed to some hip issues he has been dealing with, but either way, I wouldn’t be expecting him to come back to East Lansing via the portal.
An interesting option might be for him to reconnect with former MSU assistant and new Western Michigan head coach Dwayne Stephens.
