On Tuesday, the Israeli military reported that approximately 105 rockets were launched at the northern Israeli city of Haifa and the Galilee area within a span of one hour. These rockets originated from Lebanon and were fired in two separate barrages, as confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
While a significant number of the rockets were successfully intercepted or landed in uninhabited areas, at least two buildings in Kiryat Yam and Kiryat Motzkin were directly hit. Emergency services in Israel reported that a 71-year-old woman sustained a shrapnel injury to her hand and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Other individuals also required medical attention for injuries sustained while seeking safety.
Prior to the attacks on Haifa, an additional 25 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Lower Galilee region, according to the IDF.
Hezbollah, a militant group based in Lebanon, claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks and specifically mentioned targeting the cities of Haifa and Kiryat.
