On Sunday morning local time, the Israeli military reported that approximately 70 projectiles were launched from southern Lebanon into Israel. The rockets were aimed at the Western Galilee and Upper Galilee areas in the north. This attack comes amidst ongoing rocket fire from southern Lebanon, despite Israeli military actions and the targeting of senior Hezbollah commanders.
Israeli forces recently conducted an incursion across the border into southern Lebanon, marking the furthest advance since the ground operation against Iran-backed Hezbollah began. Lebanese state media reported that at least two airstrikes struck the southern suburbs of Beirut on Saturday.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that some of the projectiles fired on Sunday were intercepted, while others landed on the ground. Fire and rescue services were deployed to extinguish multiple fires that broke out in the area as a result of the attack.
